The ATS Diesel Co-Pilot Transmission Controller gives you unlimited control over preventing lockup of the converter. The Co-Pilot features push button operation and contributes to better acceleration. It includes an automatic control exhaust brake as well. The exhaust brake helps to slow your engine by stopping the path of the exhaust from the engine, compressing the gases in the exhaust manifold and cylinder. Compressed exhaust in combination with the cutoff of fuel, makes the engine works in the opposite order, slowing down the vehicle.

Stock Programming limits performance

Your trucks performance can be limited because stock programming does not commence lock up until you hit cruising speed. The ATS Co-Pilot solves this problem by holding lock up which enables your vehicle to run cooler transmission temps. When you turn on the Co-Pilot lock up speed is set at around 18mph. There is no switch needed to unlock the converter when stopping so you can feel secure that you not going to end up hurting your engine.

How the Co-Pilot works

With the Commander or Co-Pilot turned on, minimum speed for lock up is approximately 18mph. This safety feature removes worries of killing or lugging the engine, as there’s no manual switching required to unlock the converter clutch when coming to a stop. When you turn the Co-Pilot off, it reverts back to factory settings and the torque converter stays locked. This products works in conjunction with your braking system.

ATS Diesel Fire Ring Kits

A head gasket blowout can be a real inconvenience. If you are experiencing problems with your head gaskets, aren’t sure if you’re getting a good seal, or need to replace the o-rings in your engine heads, consider upgrading your engine with an ATS Diesel Fire Ring Kit. These kits are the way to go if you’re looking for a significant increase in your engine’s performance. ATS Diesel Fire Ring Kits are designed to provide a tighter fit, giving you a better seal and added protection, especially if your engine needs to handle the higher amounts of boost or load. The additional, more precise machining required (included as part of the kit price) will provide a fit which is more snug than regular gaskets and o-rings.

Again, note that kit price includes machine work, fire rings and gaskets. This also covers the cleaning and inspection of both heads as well as all required machining, including decking each head to ensure they’re completely flat, as well as the cutting of the grooves. Each kits also includes a new set of head gaskets that are precision-cut around the exclusive fire rings, which set in the grooves machined into the head and are “crushed” against the block to provide the most reliable seal available! High-torque head studs are required for most effective operation as they will help prevent the head from lifting and causing gasket failure.

Yes, o-rings will do okay and can last if you are using your truck as a daily street driver, usually holding no more than 80 PSI of boost. But if you’re not sure whether you need the improved fit, but do need to replace the o-rings or gaskets anyway, consider the benefits of getting one of these kits. You won’t regret going with a much better alternative to regular o-rings and gaskets, especially given that these kits won’t cost you that much more than what you may already be getting ready to spend.
