The PPE Xcelerator Economy Tuner is designed to be used for the 2001-2009 6.6L GM Duramax. The Economy Xcelerator is designed for the diesel enthusiast looking for improved fuel economy and a slight horsepower and torque increase as well as a pretty good boost in mileage. Compatible with 01-09 LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM Duramax Diesel engines.

The PPE Xcelerator Durmax Economy Tuner comes complete with the Owners Manual , a OBD-II Port Cable, Foam-Padded Carrying Case, and PPE Badges. There are three power levels to choose from that will provide you with  more horsepower and torque a changeable speed limited ranging from 40 to 96 mph directly to 200mph. Another great feature of this product is an included modifiable gear ratio from 2.73 to 5.13.  Online updates are available for the PPE Xcelerator Duramax and can read actual data designed for understanding your engines diagnostics and clearing out trouble codes. Speedometer corrections are displayed as well as offering a transmission reset and speedy learn feature.

What exactly is the PPE Xcelerator Economy Tuner?

The PPE Xcelerator Economy Tuner is a chip tuner. Chip tuning means adjusting an EPROM chip in your trucks ECU. Tuners improve fuel economy, performance, and makes for cleaner emissions. Today’s vehicles chips can be tuned by updating their software on the internal computer by means of a standard interface. One example of this is the OBDII. This is where the name chip tuning comes from.  A tuner tweaks the ignitions timing advance. Higher timing generally means better performance. A tuner that is not adjusted well can make your performance and smooth ride go right out the window and could even cause damage to your engine and sub parts.

Duramaximizer

Get gains of up to 100 hp!

The PPE Duramaximizer was designed exclusively for the 2001-2002 Duramax Diesel engine. It can provide up to 100hp and 180ft. lbs of torque and its as easy to attain as turning a knob! The Duramaximizer offers load sensing smoke-free operation. It also aides in the  maintaining of exhaust gas temps which can cut down on the amount of downshifting you need to do while towing.

Use with the Xcelerator programmer for added horsepower

The duramaximizer offers the most power available without changing the factory PCM, internal parts, or your trucks exhaust system. It also presents a complex processor encased in a heavy duty aluminum cover. If you’re a horsepower junkie and the Duramaximizer dosen’t just isnt enough, use you can add the Xcelerator programmer from PPE.

What does the Duramaximizer do?

The Duramaxamizer is a chip tuner. That means it changes the EPROM chip in a vehicles ECU to attain better fuel economy, power, and cleaner emissions. Improvements in performance are made feasible by adapting the ignition timing advance.

Garrett GT42R

What comes with the PPE turbo kit?

The PPE GT42R Series Turbo Kit w/ Garrett GT42R Turbo includes a high performance C117 Compressor and a UHP Turbine and brings GT Ball Bearing operation to the 700Hp group. The Garrett GT42R comes with a V-band turbine outlet flange and a T4 turbine inlet flange. The turbo pedestal included in this system is intended for use with aftermarket turbos 01-07 Duramax trucks LB7,LLY,and LBZ 42 turbos and smaller. Constructed with a high velocity tubular design and an optional spacer plate for larger turbos (42 series and larger) makes this the perfect fit no matter what size you need.  Making this kit complete is the included mandrel bent three and a half inch diameter down pipe! All parts needed for installation are included also.

How does a turbocharger work?

The main benefit of installing a turbo is, of course, more power and better performance. The turbo increases the amount of air that enters the engine. It is driven by the engine’s crankshaft through a gear train and an overriding clutch, delivering aspiration for combustion. After combustion is achieved and exhaust gases get up the correct temperature, the overriding clutch extricates the turbocharger from the gear train and the turbo-compressor is operated solely by the turbine which is propelled by the exhaust gases.

What kinds of performance gains can I expect after installing my turbocharger?

A larger turbo will provide more air, which in turn keeps the engine cool resulting in more power, torque and a better running engine. The more air your engine gets, the better it will perform and extend the life of you truck. More air has always equaled more power and that hasn’t changed.

GT42R

PPE GT42R Series Turbo Install Kit comes with all the components you will need to install a 42 series turbo. The Turbo Pedestal is only for use with Aftermarket turbos 01-07 and Duramax trucks LB7, LLY, and LBZ. The turbo weight is held up by pedestal framework instead of tubing like many competitors. The GT42R was designed with a high pace tubular design with an optional spacer plate for larger turbos. Also included in the system is a steel mandrel bent down pipe with accompanying V Band Clamps.

What is a turbo charger?

A turbocharger is basically an air pump. Hot exhaust gases leaving the engine after combustion are routed directly to the turbine wheel side of the turbocharger to make it rotate. That turbine wheel is connected by a shaft to a compressor wheel. As the turbine wheel spins faster and faster, it causes the compressor wheel to also spin quickly. The rotation of the compressor wheel pulls in air and compresses it before pumping it into the engine’s chambers. Air gets heated to a high temperature leaving the compressor wheel housing. An air cooler is used next to cool the heated air. This keeps the friction temperature down in the engine and promotes long life and efficiency. It is very important that installation be done correctly to keep your engine safe.

What are the advantages of having a turbo charger?

The biggest advantage of installing a turbo charger is increasing your trucks peak power. It is a real perq when you need to speed up to pass someone on the highway or if you often drive steep hills.  One big plus of installing a turbo charger is to lower emissions since a turbochargers main function is to recycle the air used by the engine which cuts down on the amount of fumes release into the environment.
