T304, 409, or Aluminum: What’s the difference?

Silverline offers three types of diesel exhaust systems, the T304 series, the 409 Series, and Aluminized. While similar in design, there are differences in the raw material used to construct the systems. The four main variables purchasers should be aware of include: corrosion resistance, temperature endurance, finish quality and price.

T304 Steel Type: For the diesel owner who only wants the best, top of the line T304 stainless steel offers superior resistance to corrosion, can be polished to mirror bright finish and is able to withstand high levels of heat.

Is your Transmission Heating Up?

If your transmission is heating up, one reason could be that your transmission isn’t able to properly cool due to the restrictive stock transmission pan you probably have on it. Maybe it’s time for an upgrade…

Part of your vehicles transmission is the transmission pan. This is located at the bottom of the transmission and can be removed to service the transmission while it is still in the vehicle. The main purpose of a transmission pan is to hold the fluid that provides a cooling effect in the transmission.

The stock transmission pan holds an adequate amount of transmission fluid for stock applications and normal everyday driving. On any high performance vehicle, towing vehicle, racing vehicle, etc., especially one with high performance transmission and torque converter, a heavy duty transmission pan is a good idea. A heavy duty transmission pan holds more transmission fluid than a stock transmission pan, which helps the transmission to run cooler while ensuring that the pick up will always be covered by fluid, even during hard acceleration, braking or cornering.

A cast aluminum transmission pan is an especially worthy choice for a heavy duty transmission. The aluminum transmission pan is far stronger than a stock stamped steel pan. The cast aluminum transmission pan helps cool the fluid better than a steel pan due to aluminums exceptional heat dissipating qualities.

Looking for a DPF Back Exhaust?

A Diesel Particulate Filter, sometimes called a DPF, is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. Wall flow diesel particulate filters usually remove 85% or more of the soot. A diesel powered vehicle equipped with functioning filter will emit no visible smoke from its exhaust pipe.

The new Rapid Flow High Performance Ceramic Coated Exhaust from Bully Dog Technologies uses a coating rather than stainless steel to produce a high quality exhaust product, higher quality in fact than any stainless steel.

S&B Filters Cast Aluminum Elbow Intakes

S&B manufactures their Intake Elbows out of cast aluminum because they believe you need a part that delivers extreme performance without the risk of it bursting in the field. While we too liked the idea of using a composite material to make our elbows, trust us, it’s not worth the risk.

The smooth design of the S&B Intake Elbow significantly improves the airflow after the intercooler. The result is denser air delivering more power and better fuel economy.

S&B’s Intake Elbows include 1/8″ NPT ports for simple gauge and power adder installation. S&B taps all the ports on our CNC machines, so you can be assured of a perfect fitment without scraping your knuckles. If it leaks, you lose power. Whenever possible, S&B utilizes an o-ring to seal the elbow and provided worry free operation for the long haul. While many competitors insert bolts through the air chamber to secure their elbow, S&B kept it clear to provide you with the best possible airflow.
